Dr. Foye and The Team
Meet Our Team! Dr. Foye and The Team at Longview Animal Hospital look forward to working with you and your pets! Read more about each of us in the section below.
Dr. Brian M. Foye
Dr. Foye grew up in Lancaster, Texas (just south of Dallas) and then headed to The University of Texas at Austin. After graduating with an advertising degree, he spent several years as a writer in a few advertising agencies in Dallas and at Home and Garden Television (HGTV). During his time at HGTV, he had a “calling” to become a veterinarian. After another 7 years of college, he received his DVM degree in 2009 from Colorado State University, which is annually ranked as one of the top three veterinary schools in the nation.
Dr. Foye desperately wanted to return to Texas to begin his veterinary career, which led him back to Austin. He spent almost two years at a large, 8-veterinarian practice before deciding to move to East Texas to get closer to family. This took him to Marshall, Texas, where he worked almost a year at a 3-doctor practice before deciding to purchase his own animal clinic here in Longview. Dr. Foye purchased Longview Animal Hospital in December of 2011.
After remodeling and updating the equipment, he re-opened the vet clinic in January of 2012 and has enjoyed getting to meet all of his “inherited” clients and patients as well as the many new ones that have made Longview Animal Hospital their veterinary services home since he bought the practice. His special interests in animal services are ophthalmology, orthopedics and dermatology.
When he’s not at the animal clinic, Dr. Foye enjoys spending time with his wife Jill and their two children, as well as playing and watching football (especially his Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys). He also enjoys scuba diving, fishing/camping, and volunteering at New Covenant Church. At home, he has a chocolate lab, Rocky; a black lab, RJ; a husky, Kota; a miniature schnauzer, Dace and two cats – Gracie and Motley. At the vet clinic, he has a pit bull, Ibeezi and a kitty, Peggy Sue.
We welcome patients from all over East Texas!
Dr. Melissa O’Reilly
After a lengthy search, we finally found the right associate veterinarian to join our growing team. Dr. Melissa comes to us from Virginia, where she started practicing medicine after graduation from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. She moved to Texas with her husband Patrick, 5 horses, 2 miniature donkeys, a hound named Fred, and two 3-legged cats, Lego and Nubbin. With all of these animals in tow, it’s amazing she finds time to treat others. But we’re glad she does, because she’s already proven to be a great doctor and a great addition to the team! In her rare spare time, Dr. Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband and animals, cooking, and riding her horses. She obviously belongs in Texas and we’re glad she’s here!
Jill (Practice Manager)
Jill manages the business side of Longview Animal Hospital as Dr Foye’s right-hand woman and spouse. She graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1993 with a degree in communications. She loves just about any outdoor activity with the family – including biking, hiking, camping and boating.
Sasha (Client Care Supervisor)
The smiling face of Longview Animal Hospital is Sasha. Having joined the team in 2012, she excels at customer service and is a certified deaf/blind assistant. On a lighter note, if you happen to pass out when you realize how friendly Sasha and the rest of our staff is, don’t worry- Sasha is also CPR certified! Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her son, doing arts and crafts, playing softball and keeping up with her favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.
Chantee (Client Care Specialist)
Chantee added her cheerful personality to our team in October of 2017. She has been a great addition up front with Sasha. Having technician experience at another clinic helps her understand the “big picture” when it comes to taking care of your fur babies. She is passionate about the ethical treatment of ALL animals, even snakes, as she has a Ball Python named Vladimir. In her spare time, Chantee likes crafting, spending time with her husband and teaching her dogs, Anya, Norah and Oakley, the agility course at the dog park. Being vegan, we’ve had adjust some of our lunch offerings at team meetings and functions. But that’s OK, she’s worth it because she’s so bright and sunny all the time. Maybe she’s that way because she grew up in Hawaii. So make sure to give her a big ‘Aloha’ when you come in!
Christy (Lead Technician)
While we’re proud of our friendly, Southern charm at Longview Animal Hospital, Christy made us realize that you don’t have to be from here to be like that. Having graduated from Lincoln College in Lincoln, IL, she came to Longview to get hitched to a guy named Michael and got hitched to us as well! A certified cosmetologist, she changed careers in 2011 and brought several years of veterinary technician experience with her and has been a great addition to the team. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with the family, which includes her hubby, two step-children and three furry kids- Ruby, a Chihuahua; Stella, an English Bulldog; and Nicodemus the cat. She also enjoys doing charitable 5K runs, watching movies, and cooking. As if she doesn’t get enough craziness and excitement at work, she also enjoys riding death-defying roller coasters at amusement parks!
Amber joined Longview Animal Hospital in 2016 after almost 20 years at another local veterinary hospital. She graduated from Pine Tree High School in 1993 and has spent most of her life caring for her own and other people’s furry babies. Her own include 2 German Shepherds (Zella and Hannibal), a Great Pyrenees named Jessie, a Jack Russell Terrier named Bane, Shiner the Pot Belly Pig and 13 chickens (yes, she brings us eggs occasionally). She also has 2 sons that she and her husband love to watch play football and other sports. Amber enjoys cooking and gardening, so she’s more than welcome to come to our houses anytime!
A graduate of Pine Tree High, Lauren turned her incredible passion for animals into a career. She started at Longview Animal Hospital straight out of high school in 2006. So when Dr. Foye purchased the clinic in 2011, Lauren was part of the deal. While working at Longview Animal Hospital, Lauren earned an Associate’s Degree from Kilgore College in 2007 and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s in history and English at The University of Texas at Tyler. She has 5 pets- 3 dogs, a cat and a bird. Outside of her passion for animals of all kinds, Lauren loves antiques, cars and 1960’s/70’s rock music, especially of the British variety.
Karla (Technician Assistant)
The smile you see on Karla’s face is consistent with her attitude and approach to life day after day. She assists the technicians and Dr. Foye with medical procedures and treatments. She graduated from Pine Tree High School in 2014 and earned her certificate as a veterinary assistant in the fall of 2015. When she’s not caring for your dogs and cats, there’s a good chance she’s riding 4-wheelers, canoeing, fishing, playing paintball or board games, enjoying a good movie or music, camping or spending time with friends. Even though we don’t see giraffes at Longview Animal Hospital, Karla also enjoys collecting giraffe items. With all those hobbies, it’s amazing she finds time to work!
Kiki (Technician Assistant)
Kiki joined our team in July of 2017 and immediately we felt like she had always been a part of our crew. She acclimated very quickly and has been such a delight. She’s happy to do anything needed and does it with a smile and great attitude. Kiki graduated from East Texas Charter School and began her career in veterinary medicine right away. She’s clearly a natural. She enjoys going to see movies, attending concerts, game nights with her family, weekend getaways with her husband and snuggling with her two kitties, Tony & Rex.
